National Student Drama Festival at EdinburghMonday, 1 August, 2011
NSDF is in Edinburgh for the fifth year running with the Methuen Drama, The Pleasance, IdeasTap and NSDF Emerging Artists’ Competition in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Spotlight.
NSDF11 Selectors will be picking the best of student new work from the Fringe and will transfer the most outstanding piece of work to RSC, Stratford on 18th September and then on to The Pleasance, Islington as part of their Autumn 2011 season, (22nd–24th September), as well as supporting them with £1000 prize money and guidance from director Steve Jon Atkinson (Hightide Festival) and workshops from the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Whilst in Edinburgh, NSDF will also be working with IdeasTap, Stage One and Spotlight, running a range of workshops and events for young and emerging artists.
The National Student Drama Festival allows inspirational work from diverse, young and emerging artists to be celebrated and presented. There are also workshops from leading professionals from around the world which at NSDF11 included: Richard Wilson, Paul McGann, Janet Suzman, Iain Canning, Thelma Holt, Mannie Manim, RSC, National Theatre Studio, National Theatre of Scotland, Paines Plough, Soho Theatre, Bristol Old Vic Theatre and many more.
